We’re in a time when all of us are experiencing ‘overwhelm’ in some way. This may be due to the increase in the pace of life; long hours; work or family pressures; or having to do more with less and/or for less. 

All of this can be a recipe for disaster, both personally and/or professionally, if we don’t learn how to take much needed time out. We need to learn how to slow down to appreciate and enjoy the simple things in life. 

Looking after yourself is essential

Looking after yourself is essential, because we probably all experience excessive demands. We may also feel that we should be able to do everything that is asked/required of us. However, that’s not true. We just need to figure out how we live life without always feeling guilty, stressed and/or overwhelmed. 

But before we can look after others effectively and perform well, we need to take better care of ourselves. 

A better way
