Her realisation that she wanted to teach yoga came from developing her own practice while working full-time in a busy primary school. Julie found her yoga practise and meditation at the beginning of the day gave her more energy (despite having an hour’s less sleep). The yoga set her up well for the day ahead.
Julie began teaching children initially, feeling it a great accomplishment to get a whole class of children to lie still relaxing and meditating for at least ten minutes.
In 2010 Julie completed her teacher training in Zen Yoga. She set up her classes and private and therapeutic one-to-one work in her home town of Glastonbury and the local area.
Julie has worked as a healer for twenty-one years and very much believes in the mind, body, spirit connection. As well as her yoga, Julie also runs mindfulness workshops and this year will take further training in teaching Zen Meditation and Mindfulness.
Julie teaches courses that bring this practice into your everyday life, to further enhance health and well-being.
Julie lives in Glastonbury. Her family: a husband; son and daughter (both in their twenties); two cats; and a dog – all keep Julie on her toes. She loves to walk her dog in the countryside which provides inspiration for her favourite pastime. As well as yoga, Julie enjoys painting landscapes and animals. She is also a person-centred spiritual counsellor.
